Here are my top 5 Best Film of 1960's based on the following criteria: Contribution to the promotion of Filipino culture, Acting and awards and recognition received.
1. Agila- this film was directed by Edde Romero and tells about the epic life of a Family named Agila. It stars the late presidential candicate Fernando Poe,Jr and Amalis Fuentes playing as his mother. The film was momentous in productions designs and cinematography. Eddie Romero proves that he is one of the best director the Philippine cinema had ever produced.
2. Brutal- depicts the different perception of morality and how women are abused by society and laws. It was directed by Mariloue Diaz-Abaya and established the lady dorector's promising career in Philippine cinema. It stras Amy Austria, Lorna Tolentino, Gina Alejar and Sandy Andolong
3. Bulaklak Sa City Jail-Another great perofrmance from great actresses that inlcude Nora Aunor, Perla Bautista, Gina Alejar, Celia Rodriguez, Zenaida Amador and Mitch Valdez who proved that she's actress and not only a comedian. It tells the life of women prisoners and how their rights are being abused just because they break society's and laws of the land.
4.Merika- an under rated film by Gil Portes about Filipinos working in the land of honey, America. It tells theie strugglwe of trying to fit to the American culture and at the same time maintaining their identity. It stars Nora Aunor and Bembol Rocco.
5. Ora, Plata,Mata- a film by Pegue Gallego retelling the life during Japanese Evacuation and depicts war's realities in the lives of afleunt Filipino families. The collective good acting of the cast like of Gherie Gil, Sandy Andolong, Lorli Villanueva made the movie outstanding.

Beside movies, Filipino's entertainment are brought by television shows and many film actors and actress have thier owm TV shows. The '80's also marked the great years of television shows. With good movies and television to watch, award giving bodies are formed and gave birth to award bodies such as Gawad Urian, Critic Choice Awards, and FAP. (Film Academy Of the Philippines) awards in addition to FAMAS Awards. The race to grand slam win also gave excitement to this era of 1980's.
